Police Announce Woman Found Dead at Luxury Hamptons Spa Was ‘Victim of Violence’

A New York woman was found dead at a luxury hotel spa and luxury resort in the Hamptons, sparking a murder investigation.

Sabina Rosas, 33, of Brooklyn, was found dead by a staff member at New York’s Water Mill resort on Monday, the Suffolk County Police Department said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.

Police responded to the Shou Sugi Ban House at 12:30 a.m. on Monday, October 28, after Rosas’ body was found in a guest room. Investigators determined Rosas was a “victim of violence,” the statement said.

“Suffolk County Police Homicide detectives are investigating the murder of a victim whose body was found in a guest room at a Water Mll resort,” the post read. “It was determined that the woman was a victim of violence.”

Southampton police said in a statement that police believe this was a targeted attack and “it appears to be an isolated incident.” NBC News. The statement included the statement that “there is no immediate danger to the public at this time.”
