Man accused of holding woman hostage at Fargo hotel

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – A Perham, Minnesota man is in the Cass County Jail accused of threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend and holding her against her will in a hotel room in Fargo.

Fargo Police were called to America’s Best Value Inn in the early morning hours of October 26th. When officers arrived, the woman said Jamie Frazee had taken her cell phone, car keys, purse and vehicle and that she was afraid to leave.

The woman and Frazee broke up about a month ago, according to court records. The woman says she met Frazee at the hotel on October 24. While he was planning to leave on October 25, he says Frazee “flipped.”

The victim says Frazee drove his car around Fargo and stopped at random places. At one point, he tried to put out a cigarette in his face and burned his right cheek, according to court records. The woman said Frazee had a black folding knife between her legs while driving and held it to her neck approximately six to seven times.

Police noted that the woman had a red burn mark on her cheek and found a black folding knife between the seats of her car.

The woman told officers they returned to the hotel room and Frazee was upset about her leaving, so he used his credit card to pay for another night.

“She felt like she couldn’t leave because Jamie said he was going to beat her,” a police officer writes in court records.

The woman said she tried to leave the hotel but Frazee pushed her aside. Court records allege Frazee forced her to take off her clothes and take a shower while he watched. He is also accused of threatening to kill the woman and dismember her in order to “teach her a lesson.”

A responding officer said the woman was trembling, trembling and nervous as she described what happened.

Frazee returned to the hotel while officers were there and was arrested. He is charged with two counts of terrorizing and two counts of simple assault. Bail was set at $15,000 cash.
