‘I got scammed’: Blinkit customer in Delhi ordered 1 gram of gold, claimed to have received 0.5 gram of gold instead

In the middle of online grocery platform Zomato Blinkit While and others offered to deliver gold and silver coins to customers within 10 minutes on the occasion of Dhanteras, a Delhi resident claimed that Blinkit had scammed him.

According to a report prepared by News18Mohit Jain, resident of Delhi Ordered ten grams of silver and one gram of gold from BlinkitHowever, it was reported that he received 0.5 grams of gold instead of the 1 gram of gold he ordered.

Sharing his ordeal on X, Mohit wrote: “I was scammed by Blinkit. Blinkitalong with a one gram silver coin. It was all prepaid. “I wasn’t home to get the order, so I gave the OTP to my younger brother to get it.”

He said he was shocked to see the mess when he returned home. Mohit wrote: “I reached home after 20 minutes and found the wrong item was delivered. I have a 0.5 gram Malabar gold coin (rose pattern). What I ordered was a 1 gram Mata Lakshmi gold coin.”

He added: “After 20 minutes the return window closed and I could not contact any support managers. “I called the delivery guy and literally cried while talking to him.”

“The delivery partner has pictures of the one gram coin I ordered but he said he couldn’t do anything about it even if he knew he had delivered the wrong item,” Mohit said.

Mohit stated that CCTV footage also showed that the wrong product was delivered, supporting his claim.

In his tweet, Mohit also posted screenshots of the order details as well as a picture of the 0.5 gram gold coin he bought.

Upon order, Mohit purchased a 24ct, 1 gram Goddess Laxmi Gold Coin but was sent a 0.5 gram coin with a rose pattern instead. He had also ordered 10 gram Laxmi Ganesh Silver Coin. Both products were listed under Malabar Gold and Diamonds.

Among other things, Mohit even shared a screenshot of his conversation with Blinkit’s customer support, stating: “We’re sorry. The complaint window for the selected product(s) has been closed.”

“However, would you like to share your feedback on what went wrong with the selected items? This will help us better understand the issue and improve our services,” said another automated message.

After his tweet went viral, netizens were quick to react.

One wrote: “Blinkit is a scam these days. Their customer service is a joke. Even tagging them here has never gotten me an answer or solution. Avoid ordering expensive things from them.”
