Doha, Qatar: Minister Minister of Labor Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri met with the Director-General of the International Labor Organization Gilbert Houngbo on the sidelines of the ILO Executive Board meeting held in Geneva, Switzerland, yesterday.

At the meeting, various areas of joint cooperation between the State of Qatar and the International Labor Organization were explored and strategies for strengthening and further developing this cooperation in the coming period were discussed.

Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri also met with Ambassador Amr Aboualatta, Permanent Representative of the African Union to the United Nations in Geneva, on the sidelines of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Executive Board meeting held in Geneva, Switzerland.

Discussions focused on identifying mechanisms for the development of joint cooperation between the State of Qatar and the African Union in the labor sector, as well as strategies to further support and develop this cooperation.

It is noteworthy that the State of Qatar recently hosted the Doha Labor Mobility Dialogue, which brought together representatives from 33 Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and African countries.

This initiative aimed to strengthen coordination on the movement of African labor to the Gulf countries, Jordan and Lebanon.
