Shinde Sena, Palghar MLA Srinivas Vanga Rejected Ticket ‘Lost’

Palghar’s incumbent MLA Shrinivas Vanga denied ticket for 2024 Maharastra assembly elections by Chief Minister Eknath ShindeThe Shiv Sena-led group has been missing from its home in Talasari since Monday evening. The missing Shiv Sena leader is the son of former BJP MP Palghar Chintaman Vanga.

It was reported that Vanga could not be reached for the last 15 hours as her phones were turned off. Concerned about his health condition, family members contacted the police and an investigation was initiated to find the person.

This came a day after the 42-year-old legislator said on camera that it was a mistake to quit the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT). In the video, he expressed his regret for leaving Uddhav Thackrey’s party following the split of Shiv Sena in 2022. The MLA also accused Shinde of not protecting loyal party members.

On Sunday, Shinde Sena announced that the ticket from Palghar seat will be given to former MP Rajendra Gavit, who moved from BJP to Shinde Sena to contest the polls. Earlier, speculations were rife that the Shinde-Sena Shiv Sena would unseat Vanga. However, he stepped aside after the Shinde-led party reached an agreement with the BJP.

Elections for the 288-member parliament will be held on November 20, and the counting of votes will be done three days later. The Shiv Sena, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, is contesting the elections as part of the ruling Mahayuti alliance comprising the BJP and Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) is contesting the elections as MVA allies along with NCP (SP) and Congress.
