LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Metro police say a suspect escaped a fatal shooting following a fight in West Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said a shooting occurred at 4:44 a.m. Sunday in the 6200 block of Brandywine Way. This is near Jones Boulevard and Alta Drive.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the driveway.

Paramedics arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Metro homicide detectives said the victim and the suspect were fighting during the attack.

Police said the suspect fled the area before officers arrived.

“This is an ongoing investigation,” police said. “The victim’s identity, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.”
