Carlos Rodon has injury bug that could affect Yankees’ World Series plans

Carlos Rodon was dealing with a finger blister that affected his shooting in Game 2, The Post has learned.

He became too reliant on his fastball, likely due to his blister issue. He was eventually beaten.

Rodon gave up three home runs in 3 1/3 innings Saturday night; He turned the tie into a 4-1 Dodgers advantage, including back-to-back singles to Teoscar Hernandez and Freddie Freeman in the third inning.

Assuming Game 6 is required, you have to wonder if this will affect the Game 6 mission.

Giancarlo Stanton is not only an October dynamo (1.005 career OPS in the postseason), he is also the hardest-working man in show business.

It was a Yankee hitting the field early before Game 2 (some may have been doing it under the stands).

The key to Stanton’s spectacular postseason success is staying away from nerves. “Nerves? No,” he said when asked about them.

“Nerves keep you from being successful, so if your ultimate goal is to be successful, you better find a way to not be nervous.”

This World Series features the two main players from Boston’s long-regretted Mookie Betts trade: Betts, who remains one of the five best players in the world, of course, and Alex Verdugo, who went No. 1 in his last 17.

The Dodgers never viewed Verdugo as having star potential. They didn’t see him as someone with enough strength or ability to play in midfield.

Okay, maybe you can stop it Left to left incident with Freeman A scout suggested that Nestor Cortes and Rodon were now in his sights.

His teammates were excited for Freeman, who spent “five to six hours” a day in the practice room during the NLCS-Mets (plus shots).

“I’m so happy to see him smiling and enjoying the moment while dealing with him,” Miguel Rojas said.

The White Sox took a long look at Rangers coach Will Venable as a potential manager after what was called an “excellent” interview.

Nothing has been done yet, and it’s unknown whether Venable will agree (as the obvious heir apparent to Texas, he has previously declined interviews with the Mets and others).

Former Yankees coach Phil Nevin, Guardians bench coach Craig Albernaz and interim manager Grady Sizemore are also on the White Sox roster.

Albernaz is the favorite for the Marlins job and Venable is among the finalists in Chicago.

Congratulations to Salvy Perez for winning the Roberto Clemente award. He also deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
