SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) – A man was killed in a crash in West Sparks.

The incident happened just before 8 p.m. on Prater Road near the corner of 18th Street.

Sparks Police say they arrived to find a man hit by a car, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. His identity is being kept secret until his relatives are notified.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

Police stated that alcohol and speed were not factors in the accident.

A skateboard was seen on the road, but police did not say whether the man was on it when he was shot.

Prater is closed in both directions between 18th and 21st streets.
