Daytime shooting in Nicetown hits man and woman in vehicles: police

A man and woman were taken to the hospital after police say a double shooting occurred in Nicetown on Sunday.

According to Philadelphia police, the incident occurred in the 1900 block of Windrim Avenue at around 2:31 p.m.

A 32-year-old woman is said to have been shot in her right elbow. It was stated that the condition of the woman, who was taken to Einstein Hospital by the police, was stable.

A 30-year-old man was shot once in the chest. He was also taken to Einstein Hospital and is currently in critical condition.

Both were shot while inside their vehicles. Neighbors told FOX 29’s Cheyenne Corin that the incident may have been caused by road rage.

At this time, no weapons have been seized and no arrests have been made.

This is an ongoing investigation.
