Three Little Birds Cafe Stuart serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

“Don’t worry. It’s about something. ‘Cause every little thing’s gonna be alright,” begins Bob Marley’s upbeat, upbeat song Three Little Birds. It’s fitting because when you walk into the Three Little Birds Café in Stuart, you feel like everything’s going to be alright.

The decor has a tranquil, tropical vibe, with colorful artwork featuring beaches, fish, underwater landscapes, and palm trees. The staff is friendly and inviting. The menu is simple, honest American fare, with a few Tex-Mex additions like rice bowls, tacos, and quesadillas; because these also define comfort.

We arrived hungry for lunch and were thrilled with the selection. Our server, Molly, told us we weren’t limited to the lunch menu but could order breakfast. Breakfast includes the usual suspects plus the Big Bird Bowl, which consists of fries, sautéed peppers, onions, cheddar cheese, and eggs on a bed of sausage, bacon, or ham; or a truffle medley made with eggs, Swiss cheese, chives and a little truffle oil, accompanied by an herbed grilled baguette.

Lunch includes burgers and sandwiches like pressed Cuban panini, crispy chicken club and cheesesteak hoagie.

The restaurant recently opened for dinner Monday through Friday and offers entrees like ham or turkey steak, shrimp or mahi platters, or smothered chicken.

It didn’t take us long to order due to the aforementioned hunger and our expectation that every little thing would soon be good for our tummies. “I woke up this morning. I smiled at the rising sun…” I muttered about my lunch date ordering from the breakfast menu.

The bird’s nest ($11.95) was a hash potato mixture topped with perfectly grilled asparagus spears, eggs — scrambled rather than poached — with a generous dollop of homemade hollandaise sauce and a sprinkle of sweet, crispy apple bacon bits.

I ordered a melt ($13.95) stuffed with tuna salad, grilled onions, and Swiss cheese on grilled rye bread. It was a hearty and soul-satisfying sandwich. Here’s a money-saving tip: Never go to Publix hungry. Instead, first stop by the Three Little Birds Café next door and order this, or maybe a huevos rancheros or mojo BBQ pork sandwich.

Three Little Birds Café offers a menu item called Feed the Flock family-style meals; This would probably be a great choice if you’re taking the whole family to Publix. Better yet, skip the shopping and treat the flock to chocolate cake, apple pie, or raspberry ricotta zeppole.

“Three little birds are singing sweet songs of pure and true melodies on my doorstep. Singing: This is my message to you-ou-ou.” I don’t know if the Three Little Birds Café got its name from this cheerful song, but they are both cheerful, friendly and fun. I’m sure if you find yourself singing they won’t mind and may even join in. “Every little bird Everything will be okay.”
