Hyundai RN24 N Division Concept Release Information

hyundai‘s high-performance N division introduced the RN24 at N Day 2024, a “Rolling Lab” concept showcasing the brand’s vision for the next generation of high-performance electric vehicles (EVs). This concept is Hyundai’s established IONIQ 5N The platform combines its dual-motor system with a World Rally Championship-inspired compact chassis designed to maximize agility and control.

The RN24 reflects Hyundai N’s philosophy of bringing motorsport-level technology to the road, based on three core principles: “Corner Rascal,” “Race Track Capability” and “Everyday Sports Car.” Unlike traditional EV concepts, the RN24 prioritizes a lightweight, compact design, developed with a 640 hp electronic system taken from the IONIQ 5 N but mounted on a shortened wheelbase comparable to the B-segment Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Hybrid.

Equipped with rally-inspired suspension and advanced ride control systems, the RN24 allows drivers to adjust performance characteristics directly from the steering wheel; these features are similar to Hyundai’s rally models. The compact chassis is balanced by an open roll cage and 3D printed structural reinforcements, increasing stability while maintaining lightweight durability. Additionally, the car’s design includes a unique audio system that uses side speakers and a rear fender that acts as a sound box, creating a soundtrack to match its performance.

At the time of this writing, Hyundai hasn’t shared any comprehensive plans for the RN24, but we expect to see more soon.
