Without Curry, the Warriors struggled to keep pace, especially against Curry. Ivica Zubac played with 23 points and 17 rebounds for Clippers. Combined with the playmaking of James Harden, Zubac consistently challenged the Warriors by taking advantage of second-chance points and defensive mismatches. Kerr acknowledged Zubac’s impact, saying: “He got better and better… every time they needed a bucket, it was like they were getting one from him.”

Despite a late recovery with the appointment of Andrew Wiggins, the Warriors fell short. “I loved our fight‚” Kerr said, adding that forward Jonathan Kuminga and others had some momentum but were unable to maintain it against a well-prepared Clippers roster. While the Warriors manage Curry’s possible absence Kerr pointed out that Wiggins and the team’s depth are the key to adapting if Curry misses an extended period of time.

The Warriors’ path to recovery will largely depend on their ability to minimize turnovers and improve interior defense; One point that Kerr emphasizes is this: “Most games are limited to a handful of balls and if you give away 10 balls it will be difficult to win.”
