Former President Donald Trump will perform at Madison Square Garden in deep blue New York City in a highly anticipated rally that fans are calling “iconic.”

“This is going to be an iconic, historic day and you can see it’s already packed. I mean, this is amazing. These tickets sold out in less than three hours. “This shows the enthusiasm, the momentum, the energy that we have in this closing chapter of an incredible campaign,” New York Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik told Fox News Digital from inside Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

Trump is expected to take the stage after 5pm on Sunday evening, and supporters began gathering in anticipation of the event on Saturday. Trump had rumored for months that he would hold a rally at Madison Square Garden and officially announced the event in early October.

“We just leased Madison Square Garden. We will play a game. We’re going to play a game for New York. It hasn’t been done in a long time. It hasn’t been done in decades,” Trump said at a rally in Pennsylvania earlier this month. New York last voted for a Republican president in 1984, when President Ronald Reagan won the state of Minnesota in a landslide victory.

Stefanik told Fox Digital: Trump can win the giant stateHe says Vice President Kamala Harris is underperforming with voters in New York’s swing districts.

“I think President Trump can make history and win New York, and here’s why. When you look at Kamala Harris’ performance, she underperforms Joe Biden in all swing counties in New York. He will be the lowest-performing Democratic presidential candidate since the 1980s. President Trump has historic support among growing demographic groups, African American voters, Hispanic voters, Jewish voters and working-class voters. “So this is an America First movement that works for all Americans, and I think New York can make history on Election Day.”

The rally is first come, first serve, and tickets sell out within hours of being announced. Madison Square Garden’s capacity is 19,500 people.

Fox Digital spoke to attendees gathered outside the arena; Attendees said they were “excited” to see Trump at his home in New York City, and many New Yorkers were ready to pull the lever for the GOP ticket next week.

“Absolutely,” Westchester native Alexa Brink told Fox Digital when asked if other New Yorkers she knows would vote for Trump. “All day long. Let’s go Trump! He added that he wasn’t sure if Trump could win New York, “but we’ll try!”

Another person named Anas Shuaib, who attended the rally, said that on November 5, voters will tell Harris, “You are fired.”

“I’m an Arab-American, I’m a Muslim-American, and I’m voting for Trump because we’re going to kick him out of the White House, just like Kamala kicked out Muslim Ahmed Ghanim at the rally. “And when Trump is president, there will be peace, there will be prosperity, and America first…nobody first.”
