Hong Kong motorcyclist dies after crashing into curb on Bridal Pool Road

A motorcyclist has died after his bike crashed into the pavement on a northern Hong Kong road known as a notorious black spot for traffic accidents.

Police said on Monday that the accident occurred at around 11.30pm the previous day as the 47-year-old woman was riding her motorbike along Bridal Pool Road leading to Sha Tau Kok in Tai Po.

“As Wang Chung Stream was approached, the motorcycle reportedly went out of control and crashed into the pavement,” police said.

According to police, the driver suffered chest injuries and was transported to Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin.

The woman died at the hospital at 2:58 a.m., police said.

Officers from the New Territories North traffic unit are following the incident.
