MUMBAI: Seven minor boys, aged between 14 and 15, were detained by the police on Saturday for allegedly assaulting an e-commerce delivery boy and his brother, an autorickshaw driver, who had come to help him over a minor argument. . According to Bhandup police, the incident took place on Saturday when deliveryman Abdul Haji Sahad was beaten up by young boys opposite Pramod Mahajan Garden on Nityanjali road in Bhandup. Abdul Haji called his brother Abdul Razzak Shaikh, an autorickshaw driver, and reported that he was attacked by a group of youths. When he got there, the boys told him that they attacked Abdul Haji because he pushed one of the boys first. When Abdul Razzak said that this could be a coincidence, the children started attacking him too.

“One of the children, who was just 15 years old, took out his knife and stabbed Abdul Haji,” said a police officer from Bhandup police station. The officer added that the stabbing boy was staying in Bhandup and had a history of offenses such as causing grievous hurt.

Abdul Haji was admitted to nearby Mulund General Hospital, but doctors advised him to be admitted to Sion hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for stab wounds on his chest.

A case has been registered against the minor under Bhartiya under sections 109 (1) (attempt to murder), 118 (1) (intentionally causing hurt using dangerous weapons), 189 (1) (unlawful assembly) and 190 (joint liability).
