Man arrested in Watertown masked stabbing

A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Watertown.

Michael McGhee, 19, of Boston, was charged following the alleged stabbing, according to a statement from Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Watertown Police Chief Justin Hanrahan.

Around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to Mt. He responded to Auburn and Boylston streets. Multiple calls were made to 911, reporting a disturbance at the bus stop in that area.

Emergency workers arrived to find a man with wounds to his face and head, as well as wounds on his back consistent with stab wounds, according to authorities.

The man told police he was waiting at the bus stop when a car passed him before parking on the corner. According to the statement, three masked people got out of the vehicle, asked where he was from and started kicking and punching him.

One of the masked men allegedly stabbed himself twice in the back during the attack, according to authorities.

Two minutes later, all of the masked men ran to their cars and drove away, according to the statement.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, treated and released.

McGhee was arraigned in Waltham District Court on various charges related to the incident. He is being held without bail until a dangerousness hearing on Nov. 1.
