The accident occurred on Tamlaght Road

An 83-year-old man died after a two-vehicle crash in County Tyrone earlier this month.

Police identified the victim as Brendan Conlan from the Cookstown area.

The collision happened on Tamlaght Road, just outside Coagh, at around 4.35pm on October 20.

The driver of the red Volkswagen Caddy, in his 40s, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Brendan Conlon, who was driving a gray Peugeot 208, was also taken to hospital for treatment but later died from his injuries.

witness appeal

Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) collision investigation unit are examining the circumstances of the collision.

They want to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have captured dashcam or other footage.

Police believe a transit-style van was at or near the scene of the crash and officers are asking the driver to come forward.
