Indiana Fever fires coach Christie Sides, becoming the sixth WNBA team to make a change

The Indiana Fever fired coach Christie Sides on Sunday, the organization announced.

The sides played with a score of 33-47 in both of their seasons with the team, including 20-20 this season. The Fever entered the playoffs as the sixth seed and were swept by the Connecticut Sun in the first round.

Indiana becomes the sixth team to make a coaching change this summer; Dallas, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington are also making moves.

The Fever have a strong young core led by Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.

“We are incredibly grateful to Coach Sides for taking on the challenge of leading us through a holistic transition over the past two seasons, while also positioning us well for future growth,” said Kelly Krauskopf, Fever president of basketball operations.

“While decisions like this are never easy, it is also imperative that we remain bold and assertive in pursuit of our goals, including maximizing our talents and bringing another WNBA championship back to Indiana. Coach Sides was an incredible representative of the Fever and our community. We wish him nothing but success in the future.”

Krauskopf returned to the Fever earlier this month after spending time with the Indiana Pacers.
