Will Bucky Irving Play Today? (Injury Update, Prop Betting Effect for Buccaneers vs.)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have indicated that running back Bucky Irving is questionable against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8, and according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, he is expected to play on Sunday.

Irving, who injured his toe, returned to training on Friday after not training at the beginning of the week.

After the rookie returned to practice, Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said he is expected to play against the Atlanta Falcons unless something goes wrong.

This is great news for the Buccaneers offense, which is down Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (ankle dislocation) for a key NFC South matchup. The Bucs can’t afford another loss to Atlanta if they want to win the league this season at 4-3 (they’re already 0-1 against the Falcons this season).

Here’s a look at how bettors view Irving in the prop market for Week 8.

Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook.

Irving is a tough player to rely on in the prop market as he is already struggling, and the Buccaneers’ offense could look very different in Week 8.

While Rachaad White had a big game through the air in Week 7 and is worth a look at Sunday’s props, I still think Irving is the best runner in this three-headed offense of Irving, Sean Tucker and White.

Despite having a rushing game (nine carries for 23 yards) last time out, Irving has found the end zone in three of the last four weeks.

At around +200, he’s worth scoring with the Bucs currently lacking a quarterback on their roster. Against Atlanta earlier this season, Irving had nine carries for 44 yards and two receptions.
