    When Colleen Hortsmann announced her pregnancy to her family last Thanksgiving, her little sister Fallon Wilson already had the perfect baby shower gift in mind.

    “I had an eBay alert set for ‘Nineties Bear with White Flowers’ for probably two years before I even found out Colleen was pregnant because I had the idea that it would be so cool to find her childhood bear that went missing when she was young.” Wilson, 30, tells PEOPLE.

    However, realizing that he could not find the exact bear on the internet, Wilson decided to do it himself and his wife. tiktok Documentation of the sweet surprise went viral and has been viewed more than 14 million times.

    “I had just decided that,” Wilson says. “But I never expected it to explode like this.”

<p>Wilson says he came close to finding the perfect bear online before deciding to make it a bear.</p>
<p>“I found a bear with a very similar face, but the clothing wasn’t right, so I decided to find fabric that looked similar and learn to make bear clothing,” Wilson explains.</p>
<p>“I did a lot of reverse Google searches to find a similar looking floral fabric and could only find it on Etsy and it took nine weeks to be delivered,” she adds. “I started by just taking measurements of the fabric. I admit I ordered it, but I didn’t actually start sewing it until probably April.”</p>
<p>Wilson had to work overtime to make sure his sister had the job done by the May shower. “I finished it in a week and a half, but I was working on it for about 10 hours a day at a time,” he says.</p>

    Hortsmann, 35, explains the importance of “Di” in his life: “Years later, I feel like finding the bear is the only thing that comes to my mind and says, ‘I wish I had found that bear or someone to replace him.'” “I started my own quest to find the bear a few years ago and just kind of gave up.”

    Hortsmann becomes visibly emotional in the video, which shows her unwrapping the gift. “Everything from Fallon is very thoughtful and thoughtful,” he says, adding that in addition to the DIY bear, there is also an incredibly thoughtful surprise.

    “I opened the box and under the lid of the box was a picture of my parents and me with the bear. And I immediately realized what it was and immediately started crying.”

    That moment was even sweeter because it brought back memories of their mother, who passed away in 2009.

    “It was even more special because he was in the photo and it was a family trip we all took together when we lost the bear,” Hortsmann explains. “I was actually gifted the original bear by my mom at her baby shower, so I think both showers were a really beautiful full-circle moment.”

    Hortsmann, who welcomed her daughter at the end of June, says that the bear, which they plan to name “Di” until her daughter is old enough to play with, has a special place.

    “I keep the bear on a shelf in the nursery, and it has a little plaque that says: ‘When I grow up, I want to be like my mother,'” she says. “And the photo Fallon gave me is the bear in the framed box next to the photo, just looking at his room for now.”

<p>After both videos went viral in October, the sisters say they were moved by the stories they heard in the comments section.</p>
<p>“Lots of people are sharing their own stories about the bears they love, and people are helping other people find their lost teddy bears in the comments. Finding their own old, lost toy nativity inspired them.” Wilson explains.</p>
<p>Hortsmann adds: “I think there is something special about the family relationship and it makes a very touching surprise gift. I think people really resonated with it and connected with it.</p>

    Hortsmann reflects on what his sister’s gift means to him: “She was so thoughtful, it really means a lot that she not only remembered this about me, but also took the time to research and find a similar one and make it look exactly the same. ”

    “I consider Fallon to be one of my best friends,” he adds. “It was really special to have that bond between sisters, not having a mother for most of our lives as adults.”
