HOUSTON – Houston The Police Department launched an investigation into the death of a person in a traffic fight with police officers on Saturday morning.

Around 8:30 a.m., officers observed a disturbance resulting from erratic driving on the westbound I-10 feeder near Lockwood and approached the vehicle. A person who did not comply with the police’s warnings got out of the vehicle and ran towards the highway.

HPD officers chased the man as he tried to cross the highway. Police said a car failed to stop and hit the man.

Authorities determined the man died at the scene.
