Drug-fueled men arrested for parking on pavement in Brook Park to repair muffler

BROOK PARK, Ohio – A 27-year-old Cleveland man and a 42-year-old Brook Park man were arrested around 11 p.m. on Oct. 12 after police caught them with methamphetamine.

Someone called police to say a Chevrolet Impala had gone over the curb and crashed into the wooded yard of the urgent care center at 15900 Snow Road.

When police arrived, the men told police they had repaired the Impala’s muffler and used the curb as a makeshift jack.

The police recognized the old man. They had caught him using drugs three times before. Both men denied possessing drugs. The young man who was the driver of the car gave the police permission to search the vehicle.

Police found a plastic baggie in the Impala containing crushed methamphetamine and what appeared to be a hypodermic syringe. The old man claimed that the drugs belonged to his girlfriend.

Police found another plastic bag on the ground next to the elderly man, containing what they believed to be crushed meth. The man denied that the drugs belonged to him.

Police found seven orange pills in the young man’s backpack. The young man said the pills were Seroquel, a psychiatric drug. First he said the pills belonged to him, then he said they belonged to his sister.
