Camdin Portis, son of former NFL star Clinton Portis, includes 2 SEC programs in Top 5

Camdin Portis, the son of former NFL star running back Clinton Portis, is a member of the 2026 recruiting cycle and is a top 300 prospect according to 247Sports. And now he’s getting closer to deciding where he’ll play in college.

Portis narrowed his offer list to five on Saturday, which included programs from the SEC like Tennessee and Auburn. Also included are Miami, Ohio State and Penn State.

Portis attends Myers Park High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, and stands 6 feet tall, weighing 165 pounds. He is considered the nation’s No. 195 overall cornerback and No. 18 cornerback overall. Finally, Portis is rated as the Tar Heel State’s No. 12 player.

For obvious reasons, Miami is a team to watch for Portis. Camdin’s father played for Miami from 1999-2001 and won a championship with the Hurricanes in 2001 as the team’s leading running back. Portis rushed for 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns that season.

So yes, Portis has left his mark in Miami and there are obvious ties for his son to continue the legacy. Camdin and his family will also attend tonight’s game against Florida State.
