The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Rajasthan’s Udaipur raided the city’s Consumer Protection Division Officer in the Disproportionate Assets (DA) case and uncovered assets worth millions of rupees, officials said on Saturday.

ACB raided four places under Consumer Protection Section Officer Jaimal Singh of Food and Civil Supplies Department in Udaipur and Bhilwara.

Senior ACB official Dr. Ravi Prakash Mehrada said that they had received information that Jaimal Singh had acquired movable and immovable properties for himself and his family members through corruption, which were disproportionately higher than his legitimate income.

The seized assets include a house in Sardarpura Yojna Udaipur, a luxury hotel, five residential plots in Machind, Khamnor, one residential plot in Madar Badgaon, about two and a half bigha of agricultural land in Sisarma, four expensive four-wheeler luxury vehicles, Mehrada said that apart from cash worth Rs 3 crore, around two kilograms of gold jewelery and 13.70 kilograms of silver jewelery were found belonging to Jaimal Singh.

“It was determined that the four-storey and 26-room luxury hotel Manvilas Resort, built on an area of ​​7062.50 square meters, was registered in the names of the defendant’s wife Anuradha and son Hanut Singh. It was determined that the defendant invested billions of rupees in the said hotel,” he added. .

In addition, various bank accounts and investments in insurance policies of the defendant and his family members, as well as a common bank locker in the name of the defendant and his wife, which have not yet been searched, were also found.

In addition, more than 100 bottles of expensive alcohol, as well as the nails and horns of many wild animals, were found. The relevant police station was warned and action was requested in accordance with the law.

According to preliminary assessment by ACB, Jaimal Singh is estimated to have acquired numerous movable and immovable assets worth billions of rupees during his service.

Apart from this, evidence has been unearthed that the accused and his family members had invested in many benami assets and this will be investigated in detail, the ACB official said.

Meanwhile, various teams of ACB are continuing search operations at more places linked to Jaimal Singh. Further investigation is ongoing, the official added.
