CINCINNATI — Taft High School went viral on TikTok last week with a heart-warming teacher appreciation video.

Athletic Director Austin Gullett shared a video showing what the football team’s seniors did in honor of the Senators’ “Senior Day” on Oct. 19.

“In honor of Senior Day tomorrow, our senior football players have chosen a member of staff who has had a positive impact on their lives to wear their jersey for the match tomorrow afternoon,” Gullett wrote in the TikTok’s caption.

In the video, each senior student can be seen handing over their jerseys to the staff of their choice, and some of those who were deemed worthy of the award became emotional.

“I was hoping you’d pick me,” a staff member said after receiving the jersey.

“Really?” another staff member answered. “Thank you. This is very humbling.”

“From security to teachers to administrators, no matter what title you hold, you never know who you may influence,” Gullet wrote in her caption. he wrote. “Every day we come to work is an opportunity to make an impact, and these staff have changed these young men’s lives for the better!”

The more than two-minute-long video has garnered more than 10 million views, 1.8 million likes and 22,000 comments, including a comment from the NFL’s official TikTok.

“I’m literally crying,” one TikTok user commented. “Teachers are so underappreciated. I love this for both teachers and students.”

“As a teacher, this melted my heart,” another user wrote.

On Senior Day on October 19, the Senators defeated the Aiken Falcons, 50-0.
