2 teenagers accused of multiple car thefts arrested

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) deputies say they arrested two teenagers who tried to break into multiple cars and evaded police.

Deputies responded to the 6900 block of Northwest 4th Avenue in west Gainesville following reports of a carjacking.

Surveillance video from Big Daddy Health Products, a nearby business, showed Clark, an 18-year-old from Georgia, trying to break into cars.

The video also shows Zeke Dupree, a 19-year-old from Alabama, giving her a ride in a white Jeep Cherokee.

When deputies found a vehicle matching the description of a white Jeep, they attempted to pull it over.

The two abandoned the vehicle and fled to the Pine Meadows area.

Deputies were able to catch Clark and take him into custody, but Dupree continued to flee and was later found in a nearby retention pond.

Authorities found the abandoned Jeep in the 7300 block of West University Boulevard.

Both Dupree and Clark are currently in the Alachua County Jail facing multiple felony charges.

Clark has a $7,000 bond and faces five third-degree felonies and one second-degree misdemeanor.

Dupree’s bond was set at $72,000 for the five third-degree felony charges, as well as fleeing and attempting to elude charges.
