‘Welfare concern’ for teenager who disappeared for the first time was last seen in Glasgow five days ago

Concerns are rising for the welfare of a teenager missing from Glasgow for five days, police say.

Officers are appealing for the public’s help in tracking down 16-year-old Memona Akram, who was last seen in the Govanhill area of the city at around 1.45pm on Monday, October 21.

Memona is described as being 1.70 meters tall, with long black hair, a nose piercing, and usually wears a black headscarf.

Police said the 16-year-old boy had never been lost before.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “There are concerns for his welfare given his age and the length of time he has been missing.

“If you have seen Memona or have any information on her whereabouts please contact Police Scotland. 101 He quotes reference 2947 of 22 October.”
