Early in-person voting begins in Michigan

(WXMI) — Here in West Michigan. Early voting for the November general election begins today and continues through the Sunday before Election Day.

This means that early voting will be possible for the third time after the 2024 presidential primaries and the 2024 August primaries. This is possible because Michigan voters approved a series of voting changes in 2022 with Proposition 2; one of which was in-person early voting.

Under the change, voters will be able to vote before Election Day on Nov. 5, with an experience similar to voting on Election Day. Voters are given ballots that they can place directly into tabulators at early voting locations.

Anyone registered to vote in Michigan has the right to vote in person at an early voting location.

Voters can check their assigned early voting site or sites on the state’s website up to 60 days before the election. voter information website.

Hours vary by location, but early voting must be available for eight hours per day for at least nine consecutive days, beginning on the second Saturday before the election and ending on the Sunday before the election.

This means in-person early voting will run from October 26th through November 3rd.
