This is a reader’s letter published in the Hereford Times on 24 October.

I recently read that our MP Ellie Chowns will donate £10,000 of her salary to three charities, one of which is the Green Party.

After all, can I say that we, the taxpayers who pay his salary, do not expect our money to be used to support a political party, especially one for which we do not vote?

I have written to Miss Chowns three times since the election and have not even received a reply to my letters.

Maybe he should spend some of his salary on administrative help with his correspondence. This could benefit us all.
