MILWAUKEE – Two children were seriously injured and taken to the hospital in a crash that occurred near 82nd Street and Hampton Boulevard on Friday.

Police say a 34-year-old driver was heading west on West Hampton Boulevard around 8 p.m. when he collided with a parked unoccupied vehicle.

The driver then crashed into a tree and another parked vehicle before coming to a stop. Police confirmed that the parked vehicle was parked legally.

Two 5-year-old child passengers were seriously injured and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver was also taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and is currently in custody.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
