Woman died, 4 children were injured in accident in Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZ Family) — A woman is dead and four children are in the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash at a major intersection in central Phoenix early Friday afternoon.

The collision occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. 19th Street and Lower Buckeye Road. Phoenix police said a woman was in critical condition and a child was seriously injured.

The woman died a short time later.

Three other children were also taken to the hospital as a precaution, according to police.

5 people, including 4 children, were seriously injured in the accident that occurred on Friday afternoon.

The intersection remained closed for hours but was later reopened.

Other information has not been disclosed yet.
