Pelham, NH Police identify alleged hit-and-run driver who seriously injured woman

PELHAM, NH — Police announced they have identified the driver involved in a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian with serious but non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday morning.

“Members of the Pelham Police Department have worked extremely hard over the past two days to follow up on every lead provided by the public,” police said in a statement Friday. he said. “With the cooperation of many people, the minibus in question was located and the driver was identified.”

The victim, a 53-year-old woman from Pelham, remains hospitalized at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington.

While the identity of the driver was not released and no charges were announced Friday, police said the case remains a “priority” and is actively investigated. Police also thanked everyone who provided tips, adding that without that help “the case would not have progressed as quickly as it did.”

First responders were called first motor vehicle accident on Mammoth Road near George M. Muldoon Park shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday. Police said when they arrived at the scene, the victim was sitting on the north side shoulder of Mammoth Road with “serious injuries.”

The vehicle involved in the accident left the scene before first responders arrived.

While police initially asked for the public’s help in tracking down the driver, they stated that there was no description of the vehicle but there must have been damage to the front passenger side mirror or front passenger corner.
