FEMA disaster recovery center opens in Edgefield County

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – A disaster recovery center will open in Edgefield County to provide in-person assistance to South Carolinians affected by Hurricane Helene, according to a news release from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

On Friday, FEMA announced that a rescue center will be open from Oct. 26 to Oct. 28 at the Edgefield Scout Hut Building on Penn Street.

Working hours will be from 8 am. until 7pm

The news release also states that additional Disaster Recovery Centers are planned to open in other South Carolina counties.

homeowners in Abbeville, Aiken, Allendale, Anderson, Bamberg, Barnwell, Beaufort, Cherokee, Chester, Edgefield, Fairfield, Greenville, Greenwood, Hampton, Jasper, Kershaw, Laurens, Lexington, McCormick, Newberry, Oconee, Orangeburg, Pickens, and tenants, Richland, Saluda, Spartanburg, Union and York counties and the Catawba Indian Nation may apply for federal assistance.
