Police say argument over clothing led 17-year-old to shoot his brother

No criminal complaint has been made, investigation continues

San Antonio police are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday, Oct. 25, at The Artisan at Salado Creek on Binz Engleman Road. (KSAT)

An argument between two brothers at a Northeast Side apartment complex left one in the hospital and the other in handcuffs.

The shooting happened around 11 a.m. Friday at The Artisan at Salado Creek in the 3600 block of Binz Engleman Road, not far from Interstate 35.

The sergeant who came to the scene said that the brothers, aged 17 and 31, were fighting over clothes in the apartment.

At one point, police said the 17-year-old shot his brother twice in the lower extremity. It was learned that the 31-year-old man, who was taken to the hospital, was in good condition.

The young man was taken into custody without incident. He is not facing any charges, but police say he could face aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge depending on the outcome of the investigation.

Two other people were in the apartment at the time of the shooting, but they are not considered suspects at this time.
