If you caught the San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason I follow for your fantasy team Christian McCaffreyDue to injury, his contribution against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night may have been his last significant impact in fantasy football. The NFL’s Ian Rapoport shared that warning Friday morning, suggesting that McCaffrey appears on track to get most of the in-game snaps at running back.

Mason has been impressive in McCaffrey’s absence; He rushed for 667 yards and three touchdowns this season while averaging 5.2 yards per carry. However, he has been a limited participant in practice this week as he continues to recover from the AC joint sprain he suffered in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks. Mason played against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday and is expected to play this weekend.

“He threw 14 carries against the Chiefs and looked good,” Rapoport said on NFL Network Friday morning. “I expect him to play. This may actually be the last game with Jordan Mason leading the way.”

Head coach Kyle Shanahan expressed optimism that McCaffrey could return to practice during the bye week, potentially making him ready for the 49ers’ Week 10 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. McCaffrey, who has not yet played this season, was injured due to bilateral Achilles tendinitis.

“The 49ers are bye (after Sunday),” Rapoport continued. “Christian McCaffrey should start practicing, and there’s a good chance McCaffrey will be on the field for the 49ers’ next game on November 10. If you’ve been dreaming of Jordan Mason, this could be your last game.”

Regarding wide receiver Deebo SamuelRapoport, who was hospitalized with pneumonia earlier this week, stated that he could still play against the Cowboys. Samuel missed practice on Wednesday but was a limited participant on Thursday.

“It’s a situation where he can play if he feels good enough,” Rapoport said. “The fact that he trained yesterday means he has a good chance of at least being there on Sunday.”
