All five of One Direction’s studio albums have returned to the UK Top 40 as fans continue to mourn the loss of member Liam Payne.

The singer died last week at the age of 31 after falling 12 meters from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires into the courtyard, causing immense grief to devastated fans around the world.

And now, in the wake of this tragedy, the band, which includes Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik, will see their album enter the top 40 charts again.

Their third studio album, Midnight Memories, which was released in 2013 and entered the list again at number 13, leads the way.

The chart-topping record has returned to the Top 40 for the first time in 10 years, with UK sales and streaming up 517% week-on-week, according to official Charts Company data.

The singer suffered great pain when he fell 45 feet from a hotel balcony and died last Wednesday, at the age of 31.

This is followed by 2015’s Made In The AM (21), 2014’s FOUR (22), 2012’s Take Me Home (25) and 2011’s Up All Night (38).

In addition to the albums, two of the band’s songs also appeared in the Top 10 singles charts.

While Night Changes reached a new peak by debuting at #6, Story Of My Life debuted at #9 again.

Meanwhile, One Direction’s first single, What Makes You Beautiful, is at #23. All three of Liam’s solo songs charted again, despite being outside the top 40.

The album, released on October 18, is the follow-up to 2023’s Tension and received rave reviews from critics.

While commemoration ceremonies were held after the tragedy, local police launched an investigation into the sudden death.

In a statement made by the local police, it was stated that they came to the hotel “after being informed about an aggressive man who may be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.”

Accordingly TMZLiam ‘acted erratically in the hotel lobby and smashed his laptop’ before ‘having to move back to his room’.

According to an audio recording of the case obtained by the Buenos Aires security ministry, police received a call from an employee at the hotel requesting emergency assistance for an intoxicated guest.
