Olivia Munn and John Mulaney had a special night InStyle’s inaugural Imagemaker Awards.

The participant shared with the group a little about Munn’s breast cancer journey and how scary it was but how brave she was and how much of an impact she made on other women by sharing her story.

Munn in April 2023 Luminal B was diagnosed with breast cancer – a disease that progresses particularly rapidly – in both breasts. She had to halt her filming plans and instead prepare for a series of taxing procedures and surgeries, including a double mastectomy and medical menopause.

Although the process was “terrifying,” Munn found a positive outcome in sharing her story. She demystified the process of spreading awareness and creating a community that empowers others to make difficult decisions about their health, which earned her the Women of Influence Award. InStyle called the actress a “pillar of strength” in her award announcement.
