East Jordan affairs were hit again by a series of intrusions; No suspects identified so far – 9&10 News

EAST JORDAN — One Northern Michigan community still dealing with a series of intrusionssome businesses were hit multiple times.

East Jordan Police say a safe at Gilroy’s Hardware was broken into early Friday morning and approximately $2,000 was stolen. No items in the store were stolen

This is the third time the hardware store has been broken into in the last six weeks.

Jordan Valley Glassworks was also hit three times during the same period, and Ryan’s Auto Care was hit twice.

The break-ins are believed to be connected due to the location of the break-ins; The businesses are close to each other on the same side of the street, when the crime is committed, and cash only, no goods are taken.

But police said they had no new leads, although the owners of Jordan Valley Glassworks had put up a $1,000 reward for any clue leading to the arrest and prosecution of whoever was behind the break-ins.

Glenna Haney, co-owner of Jordan Valley Glassworks, said she thought someone knew something and they were desperate for answers.

“Hopefully anyone who knows him is aware that it’s Tuesday, Thursday night, he’s out and someone notices someone is home or they see their neighbor coming back or they see someone with a bunch of little bills and they think maybe it could be that person and they report it to the police,” Haney said.

The owners of Jordan Valley Glassworks said they lost more than $700 in cash and more than $2,000 in damage due to the store being repeatedly broken into.
