TDC said the museum will be closed to the public from November 4 and the work is expected to be completed ahead of the museum’s planned Christmas events.

Repairs will also be carried out at Tudor House in Margate to fix damage caused by vandalism.

TDC said a specialist contractor was needed for work on Tudor House and that it might not start until winter 2024 or even spring 2025.

He added that work on Ramsgate Maritime Museum is expected to start in spring 2025 as part of the Leveling Up Fund programme.
