There are currently no public events for both Harris, 60, and Biden, 81, to meet at before Election Day.

The incumbent president has been on the campaign trail several times, including on Oct. 15, when he spoke at the Philadelphia Democratic City Committee Fall Dinner while in New Hampshire last Monday and campaigning in Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Biden’s solo trip to Pittsburgh surprised some on Harris’ team, Axios reported.

The alleged insult against the president is significant, considering that Biden’s endorsement of Harris immediately after she announced she was dropping out of the race helped him quickly lock up the Democratic nomination with almost no fight.

White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates said in a statement about the report: “There is always speculation in political circles, but this is not true.”

“We are in close contact with the campaign to determine when, where and how the president can assist.”

Additionally, some of Harris’ allies were outraged by the president’s cavalier comments that “we need to lock (Trump) up.”

“Politically lock him up – get him out, that’s what we need to do.” Biden quickly announcedbut those words have become fodder for former President Donald Trump and other Republican critics.

Moreover, Biden has generally garnered less attention and fanfare compared to other prominent Democrats such as former President Barack Obama, who was in Georgia last Thursday and Michigan last Tuesday, among other recent stops.

Biden is also reportedly working on campaign efforts for Democrats in Senate races in Delaware and Maryland.

Biden’s dismal ratings of 40.8% approval and 56.6% disapproval, according to the latest data, reportedly keep him at arm’s length. RealClearPolitics aggregate

Harris has carefully answered questions about Biden, publicly hailing his record and largely refraining from disparaging him despite a flood of polls that have him pinned underwater among the public.

“To be very clear with you, vice presidents, including Mike Pence, do not criticize their presidents.” Harris previously told NBC NewsHe described the approach as a “tradition,” referring to Trump’s vice president.

He told ABC News’ “The View” earlier this month that there was “nothing” he would do differently than Biden other than appointing a Republican to his cabinet.

Harris defended Biden on multiple fronts during interviews, including questions about his age and mental competency.

Republicans seized on this and tried to equate him with Biden and the economic difficulties experienced under his administration in their ad campaigns against him.

Harris also tried to impress on voters that it would not be a carbon copy of a Biden presidency.

“My presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden’s presidency,” Harris told Fox News’ Bret Baier during a combative interview.

The vice president appears to be balancing pressure from Democratic strategists to distance himself from Biden with his loyalty to him, in part because Biden has escaped political mediocrity after his 2020 campaign crashed and burned.

Biden also made a solid push for Harris by endorsing her after she dropped out of the race on July 21, rather than supporting an open process to replace her as the party’s standard bearer.

However, this could not prevent strife among employees.

Specifically, some people in Harris’ orbit reportedly He accused Biden’s team of not doing more in terms of planning and other logistics to help strengthen his campaign.

There has been some speculation from Biden loyalists that Harris would clean house and throw some people out if she wins on Nov. 5.

“Staff who didn’t give the vice president’s team the time of day for three years are suddenly very quick to loop them in emails and send updates,” a White House official said. told Axios.

A spokesman for Harris’ transition team downplayed accusations that her allies were planning to oust some of Biden’s loyal staffers.

“The transition is not making any pre-election personnel selections and any speculation to the contrary is fiction,” the spokesperson said. “Instead, we focused on building the necessary infrastructure to be ready.”

The Post contacted the Harris-Walz campaign for comment.
