NFL Network reports Bryce Young has ‘real shot’ to win back Panthers QB1 job

The Carolina Panthers made their second quarterback change of the season this week, but it wasn’t their choice. Thanks to Andy Dalton’s thumb injuryThe ball will be given to Bryce Young in today’s away game against the Denver Broncos. This is 1-2, where Young performed as poorly as any NFL player. It will be his first start in weeks.

But if Young can turn things around, it looks like he still has a chance to win his old job back. According to a report prepared by Ian Rapoport on NFL NetworkIf Young can fulfill his potential, he could secure Carolina’s QB1 job again.

“After five weeks of waiting, learning and playing as a quarterback on the scout team, Young has the opportunity to reclaim his previous role. Young has returned to the starting lineup. Andy DaltonSuffering a slight sprain from his thumb car accident This week. Sources say Young has a good chance of continuing to start if he brings his talents to the table.”

It’s a nice thought, but Young isn’t quite ready to succeed, at least not this week. Two of the team’s top three wing receivers (Diontae Johnson and Adam Thielen) are out for today’s game, and the Broncos have one of the toughest defensive units in the league. Denver’s defense ranks third in points, yards and DVOA and second in sacks. It won’t get any easier next week if Bryce Young is still on the roster, as the New Orleans Saints have proven to be poison for the Panthers’ former number one overall pick.

Facing the New York Giants in Germany early in Week 10 is Young’s best chance to impress before the bye week. If he can’t make real progress on film by the end of the game, it’s hard to see Young having a future in this series, and there’s no guarantee the Panthers will continue to let him start this afternoon.
