CHICAGO (Wales) — A Chicago firefighter was injured Friday night while battling a blaze on the city’s South Side, CFD said.

The fire broke out around 9 p.m. in the city’s Burnside neighborhood near 90th Street and Langley, the fire department said.

The injured firefighter was transported to University of Chicago Hospital in serious to critical condition, CFD said.

CFD did not say how the firefighter was injured.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
