Five people charged after Rowan County deputies found 477 grams of fentanyl: Sheriff

ROWAN COUNTY, NC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Five people were arrested after more than 480 grams of drugs were seized as a result of a search warrant, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, Oct. 19, deputies responded to a residence on Fox Run Road regarding people removing an electric meter from one home and placing it in another home, a Class 1 misdemeanor, authorities said.

During the investigation, deputies found numerous drug paraphernalia around the residence and smelled marijuana. With the search warrant, deputies seized 7 grams of methamphetamine, 477 grams of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia consisting of needles, pipes, scales and plastic bags containing drug residue.

All four inmates who escaped from the Chesterfield County Detention Center are in custody: Sheriff

All suspects, ranging in age from 21 to 45, were sent to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office on bonds ranging from $2,500 to $350,000. Fees include:

  • Fentanyl trafficking

  • Maintenance of a dwelling for a controlled substance

  • possession of methamphetamine

  • Possession of drug materials

  • Felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance

  • Reconnecting utilities
