A madrasa student drowned near the beach in Cox’s Bazar around 12.30 today (October 26).

Md Tanvir Hossain, Administrative Judge, Tourism Department, Cox’s Bazar district administration, who confirmed that the incident took place at Sugandha Point.

The deceased was identified as Mahmdur Rahman, son of Didarul Alam from Banglabazar area of ​​Jhilongjha union in Cox’s Bazar Sadar.

According to Tanvir, Mahmdur was a ninth grade student at the local Jhumchari Dakhil Madrasa.

Quoting local residents, Tanvir said, “Mahmdur came to visit the beaches of Cox’s Bazar with his 6 friends. After playing football for a while, they went to bathe in the sea. At one point, Mahmdur drowned. Lifeguards, whose condition was critical, saved him. After hearing his friends’ shouts

“He was later taken to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital where doctors on duty declared him dead,” Tanvir said. he added.

Tanvir said that the body was kept in the morgue for autopsy and would be handed over to his family after the necessary procedures.
