The Shifnal 10k was inaugurated in late April and The success was praised by the organizers We are excited to announce that registration will begin on Monday, October 28 for the second race to be held on May 11 next year.

The event is being organized by a group of town residents who will be working with a team from AV Timing next spring.

Crowds gathered to support the sold-out first 10k race, which featured runners and athletes from across the region. Organizers have announced that 350 places will be available for next year’s event.

Nearly £2,000 was raised for charities last year Şifnal 10,000 and organizers hope to exceed that number next year.

“We are delighted that this year’s inaugural Shifnal 10k sold out and are now excited for the next event on May 11, 2025,” said Russ Newman, one of the organisers.

“There is space for 350 runners and applications open on October 28th.

“We are proud to announce that we raised nearly £2,000 for charities last year and we hope to exceed this target in 2025.

“The feedback we received was really positive and we looked at what we could do to brighten up the day and make the next event as enjoyable as possible.

“We can’t wait to get started and welcome runners back to our wonderful town, whether as runners or volunteers for the Shifnal 10k 2025.”

Love Shifnal’s Sally Themans added that it was great to see the race return and support local businesses.

He said: “This is good news for Shifnal – 10k will again bring people to Shifnal – both runners and supporters looking to use the local cafes and bars and see what the town has to offer.”
