Deputies arrest second man on drug charges after traffic stop in Midway Park

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – An eastern sheriff’s office says deputies made another drug trafficking arrest in connection with an October traffic stop.

The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office said 71-year-old David Carroll was arrested Wednesday afternoon on multiple drug-related charges.

Deputies first stopped Carroll and Timothy Scott in a car for a traffic stop at the intersection of Piney Green Road and Rocky Run Road on Oct. 30.

Deputies say Scott was the passenger in the car. arrested for drug dealing A large amount of fentanyl was found after smuggling that day.

Carroll, of Jacksonville, faces the following charges:

  • Three counts of smuggling opium or heroin.
  • Crime of maintaining a dwelling/vehicle for a controlled substance.
  • Criminal production schedule II controlled substance
  • Felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, distribute controlled substance Schedule II
  • Possession of drug materials

He is in the Onslow County jail on $85,000 secured bail. His first hearing was yesterday and his next hearing is scheduled for Dec. 5, the sheriff’s office said.
