Emmerdale It’s set to bring to an end the domestic violence storyline involving Belle (Eden Taylor Draper) and Tom (James Chase).

After months of oppressive controlling behavior, Belle is finally in a position to stand up to the villain.

In a one-hour special to air in December, Emmerdale will highlight the real-life voices of victims and survivors of domestic violence as the stage is set for this story to come to an end.

According to producer Laura Shaw, fans will be pleased to hear that Belle will be in a happier place by Christmas.

She said: “When we first embarked on this journey we knew we wanted to show the full spectrum of domestic abuse, coercive control and manipulation.

“The privilege we have on a show like Emmerdale is to be able to show the reality of a situation like Belle’s over a longer period of time and to authentically reflect what so many people experience on a daily basis in real life.

“We knew from the start that Belle would need some form of closure for Tom, and we know our Emmerdale viewers always look forward to seeing our bad guys get their comeuppance. We don’t want to spoil the outcome of this story and reveal what will happen to Tom, but needless to say, Belle is coming this Christmas.” “He’ll be in a much better place.”

Lindsay Oliver, CEO of New Beginnings Peer Support, added: “When Emmerdale announced they hoped to include real-life testimonies from victims and survivors of domestic violence in these scenes, we knew it would be best for them to bring closure to this story in an authentic way.

“We’ve been on board with this storyline since 2023 when Emmerdale first approached us about depicting a harmonious and controlling relationship in the series. We’re delighted that Emmerdale has highlighted this issue and continues to show it until the very end. And we hope these finals will be the last episodes within the family “It will continue to raise awareness about violence, controlling relationships and the fact that help is available.”
