The man was reportedly found to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A Pike County man is facing charges stemming from a reported DUI incident with his young son in the vehicle.

According to the arrest warrant, the incident occurred on Sunday, Nov. 3, when police noticed a car’s tail lights and left brake light were not working on US 23.

Kentucky State Police troopers decided to conduct a traffic stop on 31-year-old Aaron Justin Watson.

When they told Watson to get out of the vehicle, police reportedly noticed that he was moving slowly and his pupils were constricted.

Police conducted several field sobriety tests, which Watson reportedly failed.

Watson told police he smoked marijuana “hours before” his arrest.

Watson was charged with no brake lights, no tail lights, rear registration not illuminated, no registration receipt, 1st degree operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, and 2nd degree wanton endangerment.

Watson was taken to the Pike County Detention Center.
