Elderly man killed after being thrown from moving car in Ludhiana

The victim, identified as 68-year-old Narendra Kumar of Santokh Nagar, Shivpuri, died while receiving treatment at a civil hospital.

An elderly man was allegedly injured after he was thrown from a moving car and attacked near the grain market off Jalandhar Ring Road late on Wednesday, officials aware of the developments said.

The victim, identified as 68-year-old Narendra Kumar of Santokh Nagar, Shivpuri, died while receiving treatment at a civil hospital, they added.

He was taken to hospital by passersby who heard his cries for help. According to Salem Tabri police, the incident is being investigated and initial reports show visible signs of serious assault, including multiple injuries to the body.

Pradeep Kumar, son of the deceased, said that the victim, an electrician, left home in the afternoon and went towards the grain market for work. The complainant said that later that evening he received a call from a passerby informing him that his father had been found injured near a factory in the area. Authorities said an eyewitness saw Kumar being thrown out of the vehicle by unidentified persons, who then sped away.

Pradeep claimed that he shook his father’s hand There was a 500 bill in his palm. A passerby said he heard the old man asking for water and learned from him that he had been attacked by two men.

Salem Tabri station house officer (SHO) inspector Bittan Kumar said police are waiting for the autopsy report to decide further steps. He said police were scanning footage from closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed near the crime scene.
