Blockbuster Trade Offer to Transform Blazers into Western Powerhouse

The Portland Trail Blazers have been stuck in mediocrity for years. But after trading star point guard Damian Lillard last season, Portland was finally able to undergo a much-needed rebuild.

Portland finished last season with a 21-61 record, finishing last in the Western Conference standings. It may be a long road for the Trail Blazers, but they have some young players who can help break things down quickly.

All it takes is for a superstar to agree to join the Trail Blazers, which is easier said than done. The team may need to evaluate the trade market, as Portland is not a typical destination for star players.

Disgruntled star players are traded every year in the NBA. This is where the Trail Blazers can step in and change the course of their organization.

There are all kinds of rumors that the Milwaukee Bucks could consider a trade for star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and that Portland should also get involved.

They have a combination of players and picks that could convince Milwaukee to make a move. If something were to happen, they could offer the Bucks back the picks they sent to Portland in the Lillard trade last year.

An agreement might look like this:

Portland received: Antetokounmpo

Milwaukee got: Center Deandre Ayton, guard Scott Henderson, 2028 first-round pick, 2029 first-round pick and 2030 first-round pick.

The Trail Blazers take one of the best players in the entire NBA and could try to pair him with another star. Antetokounmpo probably won’t agree to come to Portland unless he comes with another star.

One of the names that may interest the Trail Blazers may be Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo.

They could try to make a separate deal with Miami for the star center and pair him with Antetokounmpo. He could create a strong big man next to rookie Donovan Clingan unless Miami demands him in any deal.

Miami and Milwaukee could then make a deal for the Bucks to send Lillard to Miami to join Jimmy Butler. Portland would also have to waive Jerami Grant’s contract, but they could make another deal with the Los Angeles Lakers to get his salary back.

While such complex multiple trades are unlikely, they could push the Trail Blazers right into contention. A duo of Antetokounmpo and Adebayo could be extremely formidable defensively, and Portland could build around them moving forward.
